Dinner Plain Alpine Village is located in the heart of the Victorian High Country, situated on the Great Alpine Road 11km east of Mount Hotham. Travel time is approximately 4.5 hours from Melbourne via Bright or 5 hours via Omeo.

Victoria's Alpine High Country region runs from Myrtleford in its west, up and over the Great Divide to Omeo in its East. The region embraces the Kiewa, Ovens and Buckland river valleys and the small villages dotted alongside.

Central to the region is Bright, renowned for its delightful display of autumn colours and proximity to all that the region has to offer.

Whatever the season the local produce is sensational. And it just keeps getting better with the acclamation of Victoria's newest wine region, Alpine Valleys, the Alpine High Country produces some of the country's very best cool climate wines.

The Great Alpine Road is the unofficial gateway to the region from either side of the Great Divide over Mt Hotham and offers several splendid touring routes to places like Mt Buffalo and Falls Creek. Australia's longest re-incarnation of railway line, the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail provides a gateway of another kind for cyclists and walkers. Either way the touring is terrific and bound to delight.
